Quite an anemic continental breakfast the next morning, but better than nothing. The owners of this hotel made the mistake of putting hard flooring in all their rooms, and for a facility that apparently wasn't very soundproof to start with, the flooring choice just made it worse. What WAS a big deal was the fact that you could hear every step and every movement from the room above us. TV took about 4 or 5 seconds to switch from one channel to another, which was somewhat frustrating, but not that big of a deal.
Horrible towels (probably best for wiping your windshield the next morning, but definitely not for bathing). A lot of deferred maintenance around this place - could definitely stand some attention. Room was fairly clean - not great, but acceptable. We'd stayed at the Quality Inn before, fairly recently, but we weren't about to pay nearly $130 a night for the same place we paid $60 for less than a month ago! We stayed here because the Quality Inn, that you could literally hit with a rock from here, had a rate of DOUBLE what this place was. The rest of the meal was great and the chef even came out to check on us. My father in-law had a club sandwich without the bread and I’m pretty sure they added meat to compensate for the bread. My wife ordered a steak and bleu cheese salad and it was also very big and she said it was very good. For a drink I got sweet tea and it was great! Served with mashed potatoes that were okay and some saw mill gravy that was quite good.
I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was HUGE. They very generous helpings, more than we could eat in fact, and served with ranch. We got a couple orders of the Fried Wickles and they weren’t bad. And they were not only ready but very attentive, positive, and helpful. There was nothing to worry about however, as Whitney was excellent! We showed up with seven adults and three. We called to see if we needed a reservation and they explained that they were open but only had one server, mainly to set our expectation.
